| Message | need to get over the paddle shifter thing. You act like you have to detach your testicles and place them in the cup holder just drive this thing (Now you'll start arguing about how sports cars shouldn't have cup holders either). Paddle shifters are not a bad thing, especially when they're attached to a twin-clutch six-speed that'll let you bang gears in .2 seconds. First, none of you bastards can shift that fast. Second, if you were to actually track the car, how many of you could rev-match and put down power as efficiently as this "automatic" with sissy paddle shifters? Very few. Of course it's a much more expensive solution than the traditional manual transmission, but if you get past what you're used to (and what transmission your Y chromosome is telling you to stubbornly worship), you'll realize when something is a better mousetrap. On a $70k vehicle, would you really want just a plain old, shift-it-yourself tranny with that squishy G35/350Z-ish clutch? The beauty of these new transmissions, such as the one in the GT-R, is you have a choice between an "auto" or "spirited driving" mode. I think a lot of the stubborn manual tranny nerds would change their mind about this paddle shifter stuff if you were to feel how fast it would actually shift, or if you were to drive the car on a daily basis, having the option to just slap it into "auto" while stuck in traffic (a real world situation). Get with the times, folks. On high end cars, you're going to see more of these kinds of transmissions. And you'll like it. /rant_off. Don't bother replying, because I really don't care.
